It’s that time of the year again, when IT professionals and vCommunity members head to San Francisco or (and?) Barcelona to gather for the yearly ritual called VMworld. Except this year is different…

We all know well how our life has changed (hopefully only temporarily) in the past few months because of the pandemic and how we had to adapt our lifestyle to cope with the situation. IT conferences were also impacted and VMworld had to change its format to a virtual one.

For sure we will miss meeting our peers and friends, no Solutions Exchange Hall Crawl, no Live VMworld Party (but there will be a virtual one starring John Legend), no exclusive vendor sponsored events and no strolling around San Francisco or Barcelona. I am sure we will do it again next year, but what about 2020?

Well, VMware has pulled together a top notch event despite of the circumstances, totally virtual (what else) and enjoyable on line in a special “follow the sun” format where 180+ live sessions are scheduled at multiple times to fit most of the geographies. Wherever you are, there will be a time slot that will suit your schedule. The Live portion of VMworld 2020 will take place between next Tuesday (Sept. 29th) to Thursday (Oct. 1st).

In addition to the live sessions there are 700+ recorded sessions on every possible topic that will be available for on-demand consumption. There will be 7 channels – Vision and Innovation, App Modernization, Digital Workspace, Intrinsic Security, Virtual Cloud Network, Multi-Cloud and Telco 5G to choose from. To be honest, there is enough technical content available to keep yourself busy until VMworld 2021! And the best part is that this year VMworld is FREE!

To be fair, there will also be a possibility to attend exclusive 1:1 consultations for those willing to pay a small fee and meet with VMware Pros for private sessions, but that is not a requirement to attend the main event.

There is still time to register and build your schedule for the live sessions or mark the on-demand ones as “favorite” for later fruition, so why hesitate?

Just head to www.vmworld.com and register for free, then head to the Schedule Builder to create your own experience.

Seeing you will be missed this year, but let’s stay positive, safe and heathy so we can meet again in person in 2021!
